How do i strangle a rebel as a mantel soldier and the game Haze for ps3?

As i was playing multiplayer with my brother i noticed a mantel soldier strangling a rebel, i also noticed a rebel cutting a mantel soldiers throat with a razor tongue knife. I just wanted to know if players could do this and if they can, how? Thanks before-hand! :)
