Do you think other nations are scared of the USA?

I have to ask because I don't agree with alot of the foreign policies that America has (too many to name here), but I noticed that the attitude of Americans is that they disagree with every nation that does not agree with the way they do things. Every nation is not afraid of the USA, and probably has been around longfer. Why is it that Americans hate whomever does not comply and conform to what America wants? i.e. China, Cuba, Venezuela, Lybia etc.
